Finally got my cards yesterday and very impressed, but a bit curious about the pricing.

Booster - $2.95
1 Rare
2 Uncommons
9 Commons

Starter - $12.95
4 Rares
10 Uncommons
41 Commons (including starter commons)
Die, Rules, 20 counters

So 4 Boosters - $11.80
4 Rares
8 Uncommons
36 Commons

So for an extra $1.15 you get 2 more uncommons, 5 more commons and all the tokens and stuff.

Why on earth would you buy booster packs?

Heh, because that pricing won't always be there. Plus the next build of boosters will have more commons in it. Some folks also would rather just spend a 3 bucks instead of 13 all at once. Besides...how many copies of the gems and set 11 do you need? =)

How's the set 11 supposed to work?

I've picked loads of them in boosters, and in the one starter I opened last night I got a random 15 of them, but not a complete set or anything. Is that how it's supposed to work?

There should be 11 set cards as the first cards in every starter. Then they are part of the random cards throughout the rest of the set.

noticed that for three of the other four boosters in my box. two of them were pretty screwy though. suppose it now makes buying boosters a smarter option so you're not wasting common slots on the same set of cards.

The other thing that LRP explained to me is that with the pricing and amount of cards you get, if a store only wants to buy starters, you still get the same as 4 boosters.

Yeah, that was exactly the case. We wanted people to be fine buying starters when boosters weren't available. Granted, right now starters are a little more appealing overall, but I think boosters are right up there, esp since you get more commons in them when you don't count the set 11.

Granted, that set 11 is quite handy to have, but eventually you really get to the point that you'd rather just save the extra buck and not have 50 sets of beads and set 11s... ;)

should set up a plan to award influence for people trading in their 11's as 'draft packs' to the tournament organizers Wink

Good idea, though could be tricky to integrate. The Council of the Ministers will have to discuss it and see what we come up with ;)

been logging my starter decks and realised where my confusion lay. the checklists have mislabelled the starter commons. either that or every one of my decks has been misallocated. any ideas if or when they'll be checked and updated - gonna be very hard for me to start trading without knowing what's what. then again it'll be very hard for me to start trading without anyone to trade with too...

The checklist currently available for download from the website has several errors on it (a few spelling, one alphabetazing, and a few based on rarity). This is another thing Monk will get around to when he has time. :)

GuJiaXian has a really good excell list that has all of the fixes in it. Also you can download www.battleplanner.com and the Allegiance update for it and get a really nice card organizer as well.

I'm re-emailing them to you now, so you have very little excuse not to put them up ;)
