Yeah...if anyone buys a box and wants to do some numbers I'd really appreciate it. =)

I'll try to get the numbers today. Maybe take my lunch for a change and count up the structure and give a count this afternoon, assuming the numbers add up to 1323, I should be good to go. _________________ Downwood

More seriously, my three booster boxes arrived today so can do a breakdown.
Also Chris, assuming there wasn't a problem with the card distribution (which there frequently is with new CCGs), there's roughly a 1 in 200 chance of opening that many boxes and not pulling a single one of a named common (ie you chose the common before opening the boxes), considering there's 100 commons in the set, the chances of not pulling at least one of each common is way higher (at work and snowed so maths too hard for me to do right now), more likely around the 1 in 50 or even 1 in 20 mark. |

okay, the numbers came out to 1325, which is a few more than it should have, but I'll give myself being off by 2 on that count. I'm not recounting tonight.
it should be 1320 + 3 freebie cards from the origins table.
anyway:
130 rares
238 Uncommons
957 commons, including 264 starter 11's. (24 sets)
----
1325 total cards counted. _________________ Downwood

So, assuming that those were all from Starters...
That's 32.5 starters according to the rares, 23.8 according to the uncommons, and 23.1 according to the commons. If you had 24 set commons, I'm assuming you opened 24 starters, so yeah, we've got some printing issues.
You pulled 5.42 rares per starter, 9.92 uncommons per starter, and only 28.875 commons per starter (not counting set 11s).

Ok, got numbers from my first booster box and they're so damn good it's almost as if they were done so that you're guaranteed a great distribution. To start with I pulled:
180 Commons (17 Fixed)
39 Uncommons
21 Rares
So one rare ahead.
As far as distribution I got at least one of every common, and no more than two of any of them. Got absolutely no dupes of any of the rares or uncommons. Frickin' Awesome. |

| just started going horrific. opened 10 boosters from my second box and every single one is a dupe from the first box. That's less than a one in one thousand chance (given 20 rares out of 40 in the first box it's like flipping a coin ten times and only getting heads) - had friends mention it was a common occurrence in short runs, pulling identical cards in two boxes bought at the same time - should have taken their advice and split an order with someone else!!! Think I'll leave the last 10 alone for now. |

Ah, that that's trading the fodder! The same thing happened to me, and I was the first person to complete a set. _________________ Christopher Kugler

Eventually, I'll be able to get cards here. And when I do, I too shall have a full set. Considering I'm only missing two uncommons, this shouldn't be too hard. maybe I'll just do some trading in Lafayette next weekend... _________________ Downwood

Ugh, don't remind me. I'll have a 3 hour drive home after, and I'm planning to hit the ren faire in wisconsin the next day. I have a friend who wants me to help her pick out a leather miniskirt and top combo, and there's no way I'm missing out on that! _________________ Downwood

| Finally logged everything and stuck my trades in a post. Pretyy chuffed overall, got three booster boxes and one starter box and ended up with one complete set and relatively close to a second. |
