HOUSE MOSFIN
Faction History
Review the dry annals of Branton’s City Histories and you shall find reference to House Mosfin wherever an individual wore the crown. Yet, the crown no longer belongs to those who wear the purple and gold, for the noble house has been displaced. The last few kings opposed Mosfin’s control of all things political, forcing the great house into military action in an attempt to regain that which they believe was stolen from them.
Years of warring caused attrition within their ranks, and when the Raging Rivers War fell upon the city, House Mosfin could offer only a small percentage of their previous strength to the defense of the city. Once the smoke of the battle had settled and the swollen rivers had receded, Mosfin’s enemies made use of this to press the once great house further away from the throne.
Now pitted directly against the Glory of Kalim and House Bluefane for control of the general populace, House Mosfin is facing their greatest challenge. Some cry out for change, citing a stagnancy that is killing their House, and others hold fast to their traditions, refusing to seek alliances. Despite these internal conflicts, the Raging Rivers War forced new leadership into prominence within Mosfin’s ranks, and these men and women are determined to do whatever it takes to secure the throne. The purple and gold will fly again over the city palace, or House Mosfin will grind itself into dust in the attempt!
Heraldry
The heraldry of House Mosfin is stemmed in their history of royalty and claim to the throne. The purple field symbolizes their royal majesty and the centuries during which they sat on the kingdom's throne. On top of the purple field is found a yellow slash, or ordinary, which is a symbol of both their great generosity to the people and their role as defenders of the people.
There are two charges on their heraldry, the first being the ram, a symbol of authority. The second charge is a set of three crowns, again showing their royal authority.
